I've missed you.  Hope your summer was wonderful with some epic gaming sessions.  I'll be going back to Wolfenstein after Return to Lordran is over.  It's been a blast being back in Dark Souls.

The Last Guardian and I.

The Last Guardian and I have had a 9 year tumultuous and complicated relationship.  My $5 pre-order deposit would be at $5.09 had I put it in the bank.  I still consider GameStop the better investment.  I wonder what the person who took my pre-order deposit thought of me at the time.  By now they will have a masters degree, settled down, bought a house, planted a forest and had kids and traveled around the world.  Hope springs eternal.  I will not give up on this video game...

How to know who your true gaming friends at work are.

Probably the funnest day I've ever had at work.  I'm loving DS III and taking it slow.  Going to post a few pics of the book I bought.  BTW, I'm on Twitter if you would like to follow me, I seldom tweet, but it does let you know when a post goes up.  When I fired up DS III in front of my friends (I'd had nothing spoiled) - I was super nervous.  If this was a feats of strength test ... I think I passed!

Catch up!

I'm back from Florida, had a great stay.  I never had the martini ;) and no time for lunch time gaming, but next time!  Working remotely rocked.  Our new wood floor is installed and life is back to normal.  Dark Souls 3 is so sooo good, right?  Thanks for staying during my absence. (I did have the Key Lime Pie!)

How to spend time waiting for Dark Souls 3

Called Amazon to ask about why my Dark Souls 3 did not ship in time to arrive on release day, was told I had to order it for "same day" expedited delivery.  I see a Game Stop pre-order in my future for next time.  Amazon had insane classical music that was as metal as merry hell for their on-hold music.  Anyhoo, an 8 month break from Lords of the Fallen at a boss fight fog gate was a terrible mistake.

Demon's Souls, Dark Phantom Invasions and...

I have had a handful of Jolly Co-Operation Invasions where all of the above transpired.  Almost all end like this, sadly.  I'm sure there are some lovely people out there that do this cloaked in anonymity, but I assure you, it will never be me.  I will never fight back, as my belief in the goodness of humanity gives me hope.  It's just who I am.
Last night I had just turned human and was close to reaching the Maneater Boss Fight, and this happened.  I'm sure a Firekeeper dies somewhere every time this happens.  I know it douses the embers of my immersion in the game at that moment.  I ran. I hid. I was desperate.  I signed out after I died, and turned to Journey to lick my wounds.
Yes, I know I can disconnect, but the ghosts of players, messages, hints and virtual companionship of other players outweighs the frustration.
Tomorrow is another day of being human and facing the lessons that are the Soul's Series.  I love these games so.

When the DH decided to beat Zuma (and I'm not sure if it's possible without breaking your hands) I knew he was in real trouble.  Here in the USA hands have been hot politcal news lately...

I think this might be my favourite in the Souls series.  Anticipation is running high here at work for April 12. Also, I just ordered this book about Dark Souls.  Can't wait to receive the book, release is April 15.  Sweet!

A Whole New Game

This is my new sideline gaming system.  It keeps me very busy.  Please will someone make decent online videos for the Scene option!  Also, it was great to retire many timer switches in our house!

Scribbled While Downloading or ... What I went through to play Rocket League

Our son explained what DirectX is, I had no idea before.  No matter what, Windows 7 would not let me proceed to install DirectX 9 without upgrading to Win10.  Anyhow, it was worth it for Rocket League alone.  

When Video Gaming Hurts

Felicity and Vinny are great chill-out accomplices.  Arnica is great for muscle aches too.  Also, I need to ease up on reading feeds on my phone ... yeah, so it's a Samsung Note and I get about 500 rss feeds a day.  If you own an Elite Controller, love to hear your thoughts.  

Gone Home after Mad Max

Only had the V8 engine for the last 2 hours of the game, could have done with it sooner.  Gone Home is freaking me out, only play when the DH is around.  Started Kings Quest on the XBox.  I am running around a lot questing.

Not such a bad thing, really.

I always do this, but I did get to play one game on my DS before our flight home, an old arcade classic, Time Pilot (read hard!). (Ack.  No matter how I tweak the scanner, they are skew.  :/ )
